Saturday July 26th - I attended the Mount Prospect Downtown Block Party. What an amazing event! I spoke to quite a few folks and I was having so much fun that I spent almost four hours there speaking with local residents. Thursday July 24th - I attended the Maine Township Republican Organization Minurature Golf Outing. The event was very well atended and I spoke with some friends and made some new ones over golf and great food. Saturday July 19th - I attended the Arlington Heights Irish Fest and spoke with local resident and Listened to Great music at Peggy Kinnane's Irish Restaurant and Pub. Tuesday July 15th - I attended the House Republican Organization Town Hall Meeting at Forest View Education Center. What a great opportunity to speak to the residents about my fellow candidates and I will work for the great people of the northwest suburbs and this State. Saturday July 12th - I attended the Taste of Park Ridge. I also had several wonderful Team Sweeney volunteers give there time to help at the event. The food was great and the people there were even better. Thank you to all the folks who worked so hard to put on the event, I know it wasn't easy. Friday July 4th - Team Sweeney walked in both the Des Plaines and Mt. Prospect Parades. I had over 20 volunteers walking with me in each of the parades. Thanks you to all of my incredible volunteers and a Great Big Thank You to all of our Veterans who have given us our Independence! Thursday July 3rd - I attended the fireworks display at Maine East High School where I spent a couple hours before hand talking to local residents. Saturday June 21st - I attended the Notre Dame High School Young Alumni Golf Outing. It was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and see how younger alumni are giving back. Friday June 20th - I attended the Senate Republican Day at the Races. What an event! Several Hundred people were in attendance and about fifty individuals came out as my guests. We had beautiful weather and even better converssation. I also attended the Buddy Foundation Open House. What a great organization that takes care of abandoned pets. This is truly one of the best organizations to support. Tuesday June 17th - I attended Commissioner Gorman's Flag Day Fundraiser. The event was well attende and Commission Gorman talked about how she is continuing the fight on the Cook County Board defending the hard working folks in the County. Saturday June 14th - I attended the Elk Grove Village Parades during Rotary Fest. I really enjoyed having an opportunity to chat with some of the residents of Elk Grove Village. Wednesday June 11th - I attended the Cook County Republican Party kick off fundraiser and it was a great event. Speaker Denneis Hastert was the guest speaker and dedicated folk from all over Cook County and the State of Illinois were there. Sunday June 8th - I attended the Republican Organization of Elk Grove Township Wine Tasting event at Wine Styles in Arlington Heights. We had great food and great company at the event. Several elceted officials and candidates were in attendance. Saturday June 7th - I attended the taste of Des Plaines and I had a great time meeting many of the folks in attendance. The event was a great success and my thanks goes out to the SPecial Events Commission and the entire City of Des Plaines for a job well done. Friday May 30th - I attended state representative Chris Prochno's fundraiser at the Wellington. Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider was the guest speaker and he gave a brief overview of the corruption he is fighting on the Cook County Board. The 15th District is very fortunate to have Commissioner Schneider as an advocate in Cook County government. There was a great crowd at the event and I look forward to working with Chris in Springfield Thursday May 29th - I attended a fundraiser for judicial candidate Laura Morask. Laura donated 10% of the money raised to a local team to walk in the Avon Walk to Fight Bresat Cancer. This cause is close to Laura's heart because she lost her mother and gradmother to this terrible disease and mine because my mother is a breast cancer survivor. Best of luck to Team Cosmonaut on May 31st and June 1st as they walk 39 miles with thousands of other dedicated individuals. Monday May 26th - I attended the Park Ridge Park Ridge Memorial Day parade. I spoke to several hundred individuals, many who are Veterans. I enjoyed spending several hours conversing with individuals and families in attendance. Wednesday May 14th - I attended The 21 Club wine tasting event in Chicago. This is an active growing group of Republican young professionals and over 70 individuals attended the event. Saturday May 10th - I attended the Republican Organization of Wheeling Township membership meeting. Congressman Mark Kirk was the guest speaker and he gave a report on his activities in Washington D.C. The event was very well attended by members, precinct captains, elected officials and candidates. Friday May 9th - I attended the Cook County Peace Officer Memorial Foundation event in Riverside. May 15th is National Peace Officer Memorial Day. This Foundation is dedicated to those law enforcement officers, who served in Cook County, that have been killed in the line of duty or killed while in the performance of duty. There were a large number of police departments represented and the Park Ridge Police Department presented The Colors. Sometimes we take for granted the brave men and women who protect every day here at home, this was a important reminder and I was fortunate enough to attend. Tuesday May 6th - I attended a forum on underage drinking held at Des Plaines City Hall. Mayor Arredia was in attendance and Police Chief Prandini along with other organizations disussed the problem of underage drinking, shared their experiences and proposed solutions to this serious problem. Resources available to help parents was also discussed. I found the forum informative and I was impressed by the work that was being done to combat underage drinking. Saturday May 3rd - I attended the Schaumburg Township Republican breakfast meeting which was well attended by active Republican in the area. State Representative Jim Durkin and Republican Cook County Chairman Lee Roupas were the guest speakers. I enjoyed speaking the members in attendance and look forward to working with them. I will continue to walk in our district throughout the entire campaign because it's important that I know how you feel about your state govenment.
